The Soviet-made Tu-154 aircraft crashed last Saturday when it attempted to land at Smolensk airport in thick fog, killing President Lech Kaczynski, his wife and the other 95 people on board, most of who were Polish government officials.
"At the moment all aircraft fragments, personal belongings, documents, valuables and other items of interest to the investigation have been removed from the site of the crash," Vladimir Markin said adding that investigators are continuing their work in Smolensk and Moscow.
He said all aircraft fragments are being examined with the participation of the Interstate Aviation Committee (IAC).
"Identification of the bodies and body parts is still underway in Moscow," Markin said adding that 76 bodies had already been identified.
Markin said some 84 people, including witnesses and those affected, had been interviewed in connection with the crash.
